I’m replacing the door seal on the sliding door opening. I’ve removed the old seal
Which was tight around the pillar trim around the roller blind . To put the new seal in do I need to remove all this trim. I lifted the door step trim and I thought that was all I had to do.
If I do need to remove all the surrounding trim is there and order to do it in I’m nervous of forcing the trim and breaking it. Couple of photos I took when I took the old trim off.View attachment 141158View attachment 141159

Thanks WG this does help. I’ll let you know how I get on. Having removed the existing torn Seal I realise that in fitting it part of the inside rubber seal was cut back along the sides where otherwise you’d need to take the window blind out. I’ll lie them
Next to each other and work out which bit they cut back. A five minute job !!!!

All done. The seal was easy to fit. Removing the trim once I’d found all the hidden clips, push in screws and screws was time consuming and frustrating.. It was nice to see each California is bespoke though with random self tapping screws(fitted to make everything fit and stay in place and a pain to refit) occurring in strange places.
The trim on the step was particularly difficult as it looks as though it is installed before any other trim goes in. The replacement door seal would fit easily into a Transporter but needs cutting down to allow the trim to be refitted.
I’d like to say the task was satisfying but 6 hours!!!. To anyone thinking of replacing your sliding door seal….. take it to a garage.

Spray the new one periodically with Silicon oil and never replace it
