It seems there are 2 types of top mount for the rear spring and I’m not sure which one I need for a 2015 Cali? Can anybody help please?

One is like a big flat mostly disc which people refer to as a silver plate, and the other is a smaller black rubber moulding similar to the bottom one. You fit one or the other but I’ve no idea if its due to, the age, the weight rating, the spring height or what. I’m sure one of the gurus here will know!??

I know the simplest thing to do is to go and look at my van but I can’t see from underneath without taking the wheel off. I’ve googled it to death and there is nothing conclusive! Help much appreciated.

1st image = rear Bottom mount rubber , sits in the rear wish bone

2nd image = top mount

All will fail eventually, they are rubber and do deteriorate repalacing will improve suspension

Thanks for your response and sorry if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure the top one is definitely a top spring mount. It has the same 3 sort of pronged locator things on it, and had the big hole in the middle for the bump stop.

The bottom rear spring mount is this one which is slightly different again. Happy to be told I’m totally wrong though.IMG_2713.jpeg

Oh and by the way (and for any future head scratchers who happen across this thread with the same query that I had)… a 2015 California on standard factory springs (-30mm) does have the silver plate type mount. I checked mine earlier with much wriggling and torch shining. So for me at least the issue is solved, but I’m still none the wiser about why the different rubbers are used and on what vans.
