Rear shower connection leaking

Thanks, I will be gone by then, I will look into changing the connector when I get back.

Update : I have been using the sink sporadically and there are no issues (for now), maybe playing with the connector has been helpful. I will apply some electric razor lubricant for extra measure and look for a 10mm inline valve for extra security (when I am not using the shower every day).
If you add a 10mm ball valve as #9, take care with whatever 10mm hose clips you find. I gently tightened them until the joints were water tight, and then left a tissue hankie under zone so I could be sure there were no leaks subsequently (which there had been to start with). I have in the past over-tightened clips on 10mm joints with my irrigation system and have been left with permanent slight leaks. I think at this diameter this can be a problem.

If you the joints do leak (not likely if you take care) you can remedy with silicone but the joints need to be dry first and kept dry for the curing time (several hours).

It would best be a waterproof lubricant, worked well into the ball mechanism of the shower connector by multiple connects/disconnects. I used marine grease. I am imagining that "razor lubricant" may wash away quite quickly, although I don't know that product.

So, things were fine for the last weeks (after adding some mineral oil) but I got another leak last night (of course this never happens during the day). Will try and get marine grease and see if this works.

I am not keen in leaving the shower head on as it seems like it gets in the way when closing the tailgate and will break?

Reading the last post I am not very sure I want to install the ball valve in the bush and cause some leaks... I am now slowly driving up Albania.

Marine grease, or perhaps copper grease (which I suspect will be easier in rural Albania) should be best, though no guarantee if the ball mechanism is unreliable (as posted before, for me the shower connector as original is a potentially horrible problem waiting to happen).

Do not be put off by post #26, just be well prepared. A good 10mm ball valve and two 10mm hose clips should sort things for you. But it would be a good precaution to add a little silicone to the dried joints when you assemble, as I explained, and to gradually tighten up the clips sufficiently but not excessively letting the silicone set for an hour or more before using the shower. Finally, best to to leave a folded paper tissue under the joints and check for a while afterwards.

Even better than silicone might be a hybrid sealant such as CT1 which works in wet conditions, there may be availability of CT1, or an alternative, in Albania.

Hope this helps @etiennesky123.
