Power Latching of Sliding Door in "Camping Mode"

Hi, on my van it seems to be related to being in camping mode, number of motor attempts varies but three seems to be favourite. When not in camping mine works once as it should.

Interesting theory but I’m not sure how selecting camping mode would cause (in my case) the latching motor to throw a fault in the ecu memory? (See VCDS log in earlier post).

Just for reference, camping mode simply disengages the lights from the door switch, as far as I can tell, or is there anything else?

Does your van do the multiple latching all the time?

Bit of an update on this.

It was booked in last week to have this looked at.
Long story short, I had to abort the dealer visit with the van.

I did however pop in with my laptop to show the service manager the VCDS log file of the motor malfunction fault.
They were very arsy about it , refusing to accept my version of VCDS (and actually questioning where I got it from which, given it’s readily available to anyone, seemed naive).

Bottom line, they need to see it failing in action which is going to be tricky as it’s intermittent.
That said, it literally did the “three” thing two minutes ago.

It definitely does it more when it’s dark/roof up etc.
Explaining that is beyond me.

Anyway it’s rebooked in at the end of November.

I may just take it apart and investigate myself.
The agro of a whole day at the dealership with an unpredictable outcome doesn’t appeal!

That's it, my van only does this when parked up in camp mode, never experienced it any other time.
