Who carries a Portable Fire Pit, which ones and recent reviews.

Bought this four years ago. Everyone comments on it. Use it every trip for BBQ and Fire!! It folds flat and is made by robots in a Japanese factory.

It's expensive but not when you consider it has a lifetime warranty.

If you don’t want to BBQ anything bigger than a marshmallow but want to stare into some flames then the Solostove Mesa XL is pretty portable and compact. The XL is a bit of a misnomer btw, it’s basically about a foot tall.

I have the same one as @Mr B. The Snow Peak Pack & Carry Folding Fire Pit
and I think its great. Mostly because its good quality but folds down real well, which is a must for cali-owners. THere's different sizes. I believe I own the M.

Another vote for this type. We’ve got a tripod that suspends a grill for cooking too.

Attractive but I can’t imagine gives off any meaningful heat?

It definitely does - if you understand its limitations - it’s ideal to sit between two of us beside the van or on a picnic table we’re sat at. But it won’t do much in the centre of a big group sat in a wide circle.

Loved the snowpeak but couldn’t justify cost so got a dupe from Amazon, similar to picture although mine was cheaper. Quite effective for 2 or 3 people and I like that it folds flat and has a tray underneath to catch ashes. IMG_0385.png

I’ve a snow peak one too , marine grade stainless steel . Had it for years , been left out in the garden each year and cleans up as good as new . Mega cost but you get what you pay for ….fire pit for life ha

I do like a "Lifetime" Guarantee which really means "When it breaks it has reached the end of it's Life!"

Petromax Atago user here. Works like a solo stove but collapses to about half the size. Great firepit, works well as a BBQ and can be used for cooking with a Dutch oven or with a fireproof lid as a pretty decent oven too. Great quality with a not quite Snow Peak price tag!

My friend is making these https://beoverland.com/ Page is just in Slovak unfortunately but the fire pits are great. They pack flat so they can fit in California easily and they work well. I have the small one called Froggy and it's great.

Just had a look on Amazon. Does everything fit inside the storage tin.

No disrespect - but it's like saying you bought a California - but you really bought a Transit van with a tent on the roof.
The quality is great so not sure where that comment stems from.

Maybe it's the way you wrote this:

"I hadn’t realised quite how expensive the snow peak was. I bought mine for a lot less from here:.."

You didn't buy a Snow Peak fire pit. You bought a different brand that is not comparable in quality.

Anyway I'm sure it's fine.

As is a Transit with a tent on - but it's still not a California. :)
