Poptop mesh - repair possible?

Hello all,
I recently noted that I have 2 tears in the flyscreen mesh of the pop-top. See attached pictures. This is the front window in the poptop canvas.
The van is just above 5 years old now. Seems like the wire of the mesh had too many cycles up and down, which now caused it to tear, especially on the lefthand side

Anyone have any ideas on how to repair, without resorting immediately to fully replacing the canvas as a whole?

I’d be tempted to just sew a funky patch into the mesh that covers the damage.

The damage on both sides seems to be caused by something rubbing on the mesh possibly the sliding hatch.
I would try the following.
Open roof, and unzip the outer cover so you just have the mesh.
Gently tease the mesh strands back into shape and then paint with some liquid Super Glue using a small brush. You'll need a few cheap artist type brushes doing small sections at a time.
Or a strip of Tear Aid applied both sides.
Nothing will work longterm if you don't work out, and prevent, how the damage is occurring.

Good point. I’ll have to investigate indeed why I’m having this issue. Seems strange not a lot of other california’s suffer from it, indeed.
I’ll look at it during the weekend and provide feedback.
