Quick post to report that overbed locker is safely out with no problems thanks to the various bits of advice received. Very straightforward and easy procedure.
Many Thanks !

Thank you for a great post but, Please assist
We mainly do 4x4 roads in our California(2006 model) though Southern Africa and the rear upper bin(with towels in) hinges and lock have worn out.
I would love to replace it with a new Bin (7H7068805 Part number: ) but our VW dealer tell me it has been discontinued
does any one know of a shop I can order it from ?
Your assistance will be highly appreciated !!
