We took the Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry on Thursday 30th April. A really pleasant voyage. For those who have a European passport and a UK passport spouse we got waved through in Amsterdam no fingerprints or photos.
First stop Cologne camping platz. Very quiet by the side of the Rhine. Excellent local pub next door with great food and not too expensive.
You can get a tram into Cologne by crossing over the bridge or walk about 45 minutes along the Rhine.
Next stop Frieburg camping Hirzberg. Clean and quiet. About 20 minutes along walk into the city.
Our latest stop is Lauterbrunnen camping Jura. Great site. Very clean and quiet.
Tomorrow into lake Como. The van has been great and just eats the miles. The fridge lid has suddenly found a mind of its own and springs open. Fixed with duct tape. Always keep a roll handy. Broke the catch in the left hand door under the sink. The ICE discovery plus locked up yesterday and has a mind of its own as well. No problems with the pop up roof at all so far.
