Just back from the show in Glasgow. We wanted to look at some bigger vans to see if a change in a few years would be worth it.

For us the Crafter and Ducato conversions all seemed very cramped so a toilet and shower would fit. It is nice to stand up without raising a pop top. The beds were very small and awkward. I don't like the Fiat's driving position as I sit too high up and am looking at a sun visor. The Crafter has much more adjustment in the seat and a better view.

I also thought that a lot of the T7 conversions were not very well done with a focus on glitz rather than quality fittings. They were also priced at much more than our Multivan California Ocean without a five year warranty, servicing and breakdown cover.

The only van we liked was the Burstner B66 with a drop down bed and lounge on the van conversion. Unfortunately it was a Fiat conversion.

Interested to know others thoughts on the vans at the show.

I feel the VW California Multivan we have offers more lounging space, longer and bigger beds, manageable size and an infinately better driving position. You do have to make up the lower bed and use a porta potti. I am willing to do that and have a vehicle for daily use that fits in a parking space.

Heading over tomorrow to have a look around, looking forward to seeing the T7 as I haven’t been inside one yet.

If you are taking your van and don't like multi storey parking I would recommend parking at the Glasgow Science Centre or the Crowne Plaza hotel. Both are very close to SEC and slightly cheaper than the multi storey official car park. You can stay overnight in the Science Centre car park and pay £15 for 24hrs parking. Never done it as we live not too far away but good reviews on Searchforsites.

We got a T7 as a courtesy vehicle when getting a sticking blind replaced under warranty. Apart from being a manual it was quite nice but not as good as the Multivan. Only automatic they had that day was a long wheel base Crafter which my wife refused to drive.

Disapppointed this year, Plenty of T7 Transporters in loud colours and bot much inspiration. Nice to wander around and have a look but nothing jumped out in vans or VW,s. I agree with the Hoggmeister even the accessories were light on the ground.

I thought most of the after market ones looked tacky. Also headroom in the t7 was poor. Shame no new calis to look at.

Some very nice motorhomes but not for me, sticking with my 6.1
