Just back from the show in Glasgow. We wanted to look at some bigger vans to see if a change in a few years would be worth it.
For us the Crafter and Ducato conversions all seemed very cramped so a toilet and shower would fit. It is nice to stand up without raising a pop top. The beds were very small and awkward. I don't like the Fiat's driving position as I sit too high up and am looking at a sun visor. The Crafter has much more adjustment in the seat and a better view.
I also thought that a lot of the T7 conversions were not very well done with a focus on glitz rather than quality fittings. They were also priced at much more than our Multivan California Ocean without a five year warranty, servicing and breakdown cover.
The only van we liked was the Burstner B66 with a drop down bed and lounge on the van conversion. Unfortunately it was a Fiat conversion.
Interested to know others thoughts on the vans at the show.
I feel the VW California Multivan we have offers more lounging space, longer and bigger beds, manageable size and an infinately better driving position. You do have to make up the lower bed and use a porta potti. I am willing to do that and have a vehicle for daily use that fits in a parking space.
