Hi All
Ok need your Help.
If this has come up before please Delete or send me to the right Forum post.
Looking at the price of Diesel vs Petrol at the moment.
Looking for a 4 motion California. Do I go for a new Hybrid T7 which is 4 motion California.
Which are giving good monthly payments.
But not sure as it’s a Petrol & MPG ?
Or go for a late 4 motion California Diesel ?
will be Travelling around UK & Europe
Will I not be able to get in some city’s as it’s a Diesel.
I am going in circles at the moment.

To my knowledge, there is no city centre in Germany which would restrict your entry JUST because it is a modern diesel car. Nor in France. I also do not know of any EU city which will prohibit entry of my 2003 T6.1 diesel. I have a "green 4" sticker for Germany and "yellow 2" for France. Maybe I am not fully informed ?

Also, in my opinion, if you will travel long distances (UK-Spain or Italy, for instance, E.Europe, then nothing can beat diesel. And diesel prices (gasoline/benzin prices too) will come down. If you will largely travel on your Island, then it is worth looking at other energy options.

Any diesel with adblue is Euro 6 (2016 onwards) will be fine in every city in Europe. The older ones will also be allowed in but pay a fee - See London, Sheffield etc.

As Flower power says Diesels will eat the miles and are well suited to touring.

Other than what vehicle you actually prefer the only reason not to buy a diesel would be if you intend to do lots of short journeys. Petrol will do that better, depending on how many modern emission components come on a modern petrol these days.

Not sure I'm adding to anything here but, as stated, a Euro 6 Diesel is accepted in all UK cities without additional congestion charges.
Our T6.1 4m is a dream to drive and sits happily all day eating up the miles on motorways and mountain passes. We are really pleased with it.
However. If we were to change to the new T7 (which we really are not about to do), we would seriously look at the petrol hybrid. We're not ready for a full electric yet!
We still love our T6.1 van and are not looking for a camping car yet. Each to their own!
