Hi, hoping I might have more luck here after speaking to almost every department in VW without any joy - a simple question I thought as I am trying to update the navigation data base / map manually as I believe them to be out of date - not updating either automatically or via USB (maps downloaded from VW map updates and instructions followed to the letter!)
My system information page on the media centre is showing a navigation database of 24.7 - can anyone tell me if this is the current / newest database or if there is a more recent one before I tackle the garage (the warranty is almost up and so if this is going to be an issue I need to get it sorted - and yes I usually use Google maps but these aren't much good in Scotland with no signal!)

Much appreciated if anyone can help with this

What is your map version on the info screen? The digits are the month and year it was last updated. Mine just does it quietly in the background.

Just read better. Your last update was July 2024. Defo out of date.

For Google you can download areas to work offline.

I use Google maps in Scotland very successfully by downloading maps in advance. I cant be doing with the useless VW navigation system and having to go throigh the hassle of keeping it up to date

Seeing as the VW SatNav will automatically update, doesn’t depend on a phone signal nor having to physically download maps to a phone , thus missing real life road data, I think the latest SatNav does a pretty good job. Of course you do have to be able to use it correctly.

If you are not receiving Over the Air updates and you have a Current WE Connect Plus account correctly set up then you have a problem with the Infotainment System.

And how much does We Connect Plus cost per year? Google is free and better.

You can use Google to input destinations via the VW app and We Connect Plus, and other abilities are useful on the Hybrid.
