I saw the topic on that matter (https://vwcaliforniaclub.com/threads/awning-on-right.58705/) but there was no conclusion then I guess.

So I bought the T7 Cali with awning on the right side and now want to move it to the left where the kitchen is.

I wonder if anyone managed to order the mounting parts to do that? It seems they need to be mirrored on the left. Or maybe there are some aftermarket ones...

Thanks in advance!

JFYI after a bit of googling found the brackets in some shop: https:///product/campervan-parts/vw...d-fixings-vw-t7-california-ocean-coast-beach/

Gonna try ordering, not sure if they ship outside of UK...

Hi, I have the same problem. Did you find a solution? Did you indeed manage to move the awning on the kitchen side?

I bought the mirrored metal mounts to attach it on the kitchen side, but haven't yet bothered to install them. But I don't see why they would not work.

The cost was around 80 eur I think.

I have memory of watching the Cali Chris video on the multivan awning, saying that the right side awning can't go on the left. Just watched it again and the justification is pretty weak! Seems simple enough that you would just get the awning winder from the rear of the vehicle rather than the front!
Would be interested to see it done :thumb

The main problem there is the front mount. T7 is a bit curved to the front and the mount is made to follow its shape.

To put it on the left side you cant just move it, you need to mirror it...

I mean the actual awning cassette itself, appreciating the mounts would need to mirror...

Ah yeah the awning itself works both ways.

Man, I'm currently in a camping and saw T7 with awnings on both sides :)

I recently purchased the left hand mounting brackets and have now swopped the awning from the right hand side to the left hand side successfully. No additional parts needed other than the two new brackets. The hand winder is now positioned at the front of the camper. The rubber gutter seal is symmetrical so fits perfectly on the passenger side. Once the new brackets are mounted on the passenger side, the next key task is to adjust the cassette mounts to mirror the position they had on the driver’s side. A plastic cover can be removed on each cassette mount giving you access to two nuts. These need to be loosened then the cassette mounts to their new mirrored position. The movement is approximately 97mm for each cassette, however, carefully check the dimensions before any movement is made once this is done your awning will clip nicely onto the passenger side.

Thanks, glad to hear you are able to switch as I have bought a T7 Ocean with awning on drivers side.

Can I ask where you purchased the brackets to mount on the left hand side.

I think these are an option?

Related question and I hope this isn't seen as hijacking the original posters question....I took delivery of my 2025 Cali Ocean demo unit just under one month ago. California Chris's youtube videos have been more thorough than anything my dealer has shown me about my van. In the awning video California Chris states the awning comes with 3 keys, can you folks confirm that? I only got one. :(

Yes, I picked my California Ocean up in Feb and it came with 3 keys for the awning.

I have also three. Because to take the awning off you need at least two.

Check gloveboxes etc - my keys were there somewhere.

Hi , I purchased the Lhd brackets from campervanastic for approx £80. They took 5 days to arrive.

Hi Jason, how are you finding your new T7 and specifically the drive and economy with the petrol engine as that's what I am now thinking about?
