Received this just before we travel - is it still possible to grab coffee / breakfast or should we bank on the terminal being a sh*t show and best avoided for a mid morning crossing.

LeShuttle:
We’re beginning to make some improvements to your check-in and terminal experience. These upgrades are designed to modernise our spaces and make your journey with us even more smooth.

As this work takes place, you may notice that some areas look a little different from our usual LeShuttle look and feel. We wanted to reassure you that your check-in and terminal experience will be as seamless as possible. The Folkestone terminal may have some additional improvements taking place during your journey, but our teams will be focused on keeping everything running smoothly.

We can’t wait to share the finished results with you and look forward to welcoming you on your upcoming journey

I think you/we all know the answer to the question in the first paragraph !

Haven’t played this game since 2019 so in for a real treat. We have our EES registered though so that’s something.

Never had a real issue and it just says they are doing some work. Have been for a while. Plenty of eateries will still be open.

“Even more smooth” should that be smoother……. Start debate here.

We went through last Thursday and it all seemed fine, although I found the lack of information for LS newbies like me to be frustrating and bewildering.

What really p****s me off (same with airports) is the obsession with trying to get you to part with money.

I don’t want any fast food. I don’t want duty free fags and booze. I certainly don’t want overpriced coffee.
Just look at my passport and get me on a the next available train.

The whole thing could be so slick and fast but instead GB plc capitalism has to be allowed in.

Add in LS trying to maximise shareholder profits by running as few a trains as possible and you have a recipe for a sh** day out!

I’m going for a lie down in a darkened room!!

I am similarly p*****d off when walking though airports past security and you find yourself in glitter land sorrounded by perfumes/cosmetics etc.
every time I cross that bit I find myself wishing for a communist revolution taking over
I'm usually back to my happy self after the sensory ordeal is over

It’s the only time I wear aftershave.

But that’s the beauty of the market economy. You can keep that coin in your pocket if you choose to. Indeed, if everyone did that, the stores would close and you wouldn’t even need to ignore them. I agree that it is difficult to understand exactly who is buying this stuff. Are some things cheaper there?

It’s worth saving, that this capitalist system also allows you to use the competition. I think that more people should do take the ferry. It would make tunnel crossings quieter for me. :D

At Stansted I asked if I could go a different route not though the perfumes as it effects my breathing. I was showed a route that avoided the area.

I admit to buying Nyetimber to bring to friends in Italy who have no idea how good English premium sparkling is.
It helps (the store) that I cannot take liquids from the outside world before security ….

Has anyone crossed from France to England via the tunnel in the last couple of days? Clear? (Asking in order to prepare myself for my Tuesday crossing. )

Crossed Saturday morning , no problems , booked for 10 am , arrived early and got a earlier train at no extra cost , seemed very quiet

We came through two weeks ago. Easy peasy , no eu checks and straight on.

That said we always stop for a McDonalds muffin and a wee at the service station before hand

We passed this morning no issues at all. On time and quickly through customs.
