Hi all,
Quick two questions...I am replacing both batteries on a 2019 Ocean.
1. Can I buy exactly the same battery for front and rear leisure batteries? I can't tell if they are the same, as the covers are still in place at the moment.
2. I have measured the length of the rear leisure battery, in situ. The dimensions of the current Varta battery are (approx) L 315mm. Most of the ones I am looking to purchase are around L 353mm. If I look at the spec of my current battery online using the serial number, it shows L 353mm. I'm confused! The cavity under the wardrobe and the seat look very tight, not leaving much wiggle room. Do I need a 315mm or would a 353mm one do, as that is what is says is in there right now?!

Thank you.

Thanks, just looking at different brands too, and that's where it gets a bit confusing! The Varta LA80's dimensions are stated as bigger than the LA80 that is currently installed. Just wondered if anyone else had come across this, gone with the L353mm, and it was all good.

DIN H7 and DIN H6 (smaller than H7) measures fit, it’s the height that poses issues. It should be no more than 19 cm in height.

L 31,5 fits, but 35,3 is really tricky. You hardly have space to manoeuvre it in the cupboard in the back.

The LA 80s I got from Tanya were exactly the same dimensions as the Varta LA80s they replaced. No problems fitting them.

Another question on batteries: has anyone done a straight swap of the Cali leisure batteries for LiPo4 (assuming I can find these 190mm high). Any problems or suggestions?

You would need to change the Split Charge Relay for a DC to DC charger with Lithium Profile. Not difficult, and if you have the OEM Mains Charger then that may need to be changed for a replacement with a Lithium charging profile

I replaced the charge relay with a Victron Orion XS 50A DC to DC converter.

But I’ve yet to swap the batteries, I’ve been looking at the Titan batteries that come in a DIN shaped box.
