Latch not closing

I have this latch door (left hand side under gas cooker on t6.1 ocean) not latching. Obviously there was a problem because previous owner put tape on it. How do I permanently fix this please? Mike

Can you post another photo like the first but more to the righthand side ..
We cannot see why the ductape is there or why the latch is not closing.
