Has anyone taken their van there?
Got relatives there and going to Chernobyl so just wondering if any specific problems driving there, apart from the fact that no-one seems to have vehicle insurance.

A dash cam would probably be a useful accessory.

Planning a trip to Albania in the summer - if Ukraine the same you buy third party insurance on the border. Your UK insurers probably wont extend your fire / theft / accidental damage cover when out of the EU so you need to bear that in mind - bit of a risk but outweighed by seeing the world.

There is a great restaurant in Kiev where you can get chicken chernobyl - very lovely and you get 6 legs

Can't help with anything about the van I'm afraid, but can recommend a read of Martin Cruz Smith's "Wolves Eat Dogs" - an atmospheric scene setter for the Chenobyl area, and a great read.

I was thinking of hiring one of those to pop over to Chernobyl.... and further east :shocked
