Hook-up Cable

I don’t know what your individual issues are, I just know by giving a little squirt of this stuff every couple of months makes it easier to decouple the electric hook up cable. Photos to avoid crossed wires … haha!

I have never lubricated anything on the EHU.
Just a firm push and pull and everything works ok for me. 15 years already.

Thank you!! Much appreciated...

Just wiggle it gently from side to side as you pull and it will come out. The plastic casing is designed to be be a tight fit to keep out moisture.

It’s the plastic casing that is tight, not the contacts.
Honestly, a gentle wiggle is just not doing it.
I appreciate it needs to be tight for moisture but there's tight and and there's pulling the socket off the van!
I wish there was a way to video the pressure its taking me to push this on, and worse, pulling it off - no amount of wiggling is doing it.

Have you tried a different plug?

After cleaning the van in readiness for our week away I was about to give some silicon spray a go before buying some of the AG stuff recommended by @Hawthorn37
As I grabbed it off the shelf I noticed the short UK 240v mains charge lead we had bought had a different socket to the one I bought for my lead.

Decided to give this a try and it slipped on with one hand and a very light push.
Removing was just as easy - one hand using my thumb on the lever and a slight pull and it was off.

PROBLEM SOLVED - go buy the same socket and change it.
Except the socket on its own is bizarrely the one that's a PITA to use.

So grabbed another 240v charge lead and stripped the socket off.
Local camping shop were pretty good to be fair when I explained the issue and reduced it to £4.00 for ,me.

Attaching photos in case anyone wants to use them for reference going forward.
Both the same Brand - Powerpart so not sure why so much difference?!
