The two arms that fold in are just tension arms that work against the fabric tension, so they don't lock out as such. Has one of the ends become detached ?
Victor, it's not the support Arms that fold out yo support the fabric. It's the two struts that tuck away within the awning outer casing, and are retained each side by springs. These fall down, once released, to form support piles at each outer corner of the deployed awning. It's one of these that no long allows itself to be locked extended, as the internal mechanism is compromised.
So the leg, these are the latching clips with levers - again any of the suppliers listed inc. club shop. About 5 mins to change. - Assuming a Thule 5102 Awning
Easy fix with basic tools , you undo one screw on the under side if the plastic insert , then slide out the whole lower leg and plastic insert.
Hi Mike, my awning suffered a split fabric and a a snapped cable in the support arms so it was cheaper for me to buy a new awning. I subsequently have a few spare parts available, including both legs.
This happened to me and it’s just the little plastic cup that had broke. A cheap fix. Worth checking or is it def. The leg itself that’s broke?

Hi I had the same problem and used a silicone spray on them worked it in and now they are working perfectly.
