Hello all
Does anyone know the size or part number for the grey plastic grommets that are on the side of the upstairs bed? They attached the headline below the bed (ceiling downstairs) to the upper bed frame.
Thanks!

VW Securing Plug for Elevating Roof Bed Lining in VW California Ocean & Beach. N90 201 601 Y20 . Available at Campervanbits.

How do you remove the plug though once the head has snapped off the plastic plug? That's the first time most people will be aware there is a problem.

Just get the grey VW trim clips ( the two part ones ) they fit exactly and can be removed if you ever need to

These type but in light grey

Edit if the head is snapped off the original just push it into the bed frame with a screw driver

That's a good idea, but will the stem on the broken plug push through? How did you remove the broken plug?

The broken plug will push into the metal frame , I think from memory the stem drops out of the frame when it's elevated. But it's not an issue if it doesn't. The original clips aren't fit for purpose.

Great. That's exactly what I was hoping to do, just wasn't sure it would make it all the way through without binding up. Thanks.

Multi coloured auction site , Chinese Sites will be considerably cheaper

The stem of the OEM clip is about the same size as the through hole in the frame.
If the head is snapped off it will very easily push into the frame .
If the head is on prize out the whole fixing (thin knife inserted horizontally) work around the head to prize the fixing free , if the head snaps push it in

Do those screw in with an allen key?
They push in and prize out with a thin blade etc inserted in the inner rivet head, I think they are supposed to unscrew but they don't and the head will become damaged if you try.

They simply push in to expand the rear tube. VW used them by the zillion , not sure why they invented a special one for the head lining , particularly when the one they invented is rubbish

:agreed

Other clips will do the job just as well, but from experience the two part ones do exactly what is required & are a good colour match
