Grand California handover checklist

Is there a handover checklist for a new (MY2025) Grand California 600? I’ve seen a thread on the need for one but no comprehensive list.

I’m picking up the GC600 in a couple of weeks’ time, trading in my wonderful T5.1 California SE. It’ll be sad to say goodbye to the SE, as my kids grew up in it over the past 12 years. We toyed with the idea of a 6.1 or a Multivan Ocean but thought we needed a new type of experience. We’ve got the over-cabin bed just in case one of the kids wants to come along but really, the GC600 is just for the two of us.

A GC600 checklist and any other tips or questions on what to ask the dealership would be welcome.

Also, could someone post a pic of the area under the steering wheel, behind the pedals, please? I could see a shiny steel shaft, which in any other vehicle I’ve owned would be covered by a a plastic trim. Is that normal in the GC600/Crafter?

Hi Grand Cali owners, any thoughts on this, checklist, what comes with the van etc?

I didn’t find a checklist. Everything the dealer provided was in a black zipped-up bag.

It included:

- child safety net for the top bed
- fixings for the gas cylinder
- instructions and a plastic spanner for the toilet and SOG along with a free small bottle of toilet fluid
- magnetic window blinds; just like my old T5.1 Cali’s (but with poles for extra support for the windscreen blinds)
- paperwork and certificates
- two keys
- fob for the auxiliary heater
- key for the water tank
- a QR code to help pair your phone to the infotainment system
- tyre repair kit under floor of passenger area.

It *didn’t* come with:

- a full printed manual.
- locking nut for the wheels, unlike my previous Cali.

If I think of anything else, I’ll add.

Hi thanks for that, a good start for my pickup in a few weeks.

Thanks too from me for the list.
We are doing a similar change to you, moving from a T6 Ocean (7 years) to a GC600 with the roof bed.
How have you found the transition?

Loving it.

Miss having a second car as it’s just not practical for driving around town. But the camping experience is something else entirely and that’s what we bought it for.

Driving it is fine. I was a wee bit worried about the step up in size but it’s not much different at all.

I was also worried that it’d feel darker inside than a Cali but the sky lights in the roof make it really bright and well ventilated.

It’s just such a relaxing place to be and so snug in the evenings.

It’s like bringing your own wee luxury self catering flat with you.
