Gas Check in North East Scotland

Has anyone had their California gas system checked in North East Scotland recently? I have had two different specialists say that they are unable to test and issue a gas safety certificate because there is no test port on the system and therefore the hose and regulator would need to be disconnected for the test and then reconnected and they could not conduct the proper range of checks. If you've had yours done in this region , please let me know where or how.

Why do you want/need a gas check? Previous posts indicated this was just required if you were renting.

For peace of mind. Also if I was selling the van the new owner would want to know that the gas system was safe.
