Fridge stopped working

Well, we’re on solar, so the batteries were fully charged, or almost fully charged. However, one change to our normal routine is that we haven’t had the need to put the keys in the ignition for the two nights that we’ve been here so far. From others’ experience it seems that this might be a factor.

Been running the fridge on battery for the last week, whilst on tour, setting 3, then reduced to 2 and still cold enough for water and food. On day 6 fridge randomly turned off, battery 80% charge. In the last 3 years has happened 3 or 4 times, just need to keep an eye on the fridge symbol been illuminated. Might mention to the garage on next service visit, which is due in a few months.

We have just had the same problem yesterday came back to van fridge symbol had gone off and no noise from pump were 4 weeks in to 5 week trip in Portugal it a 2 year old ocean

Sounds like the MO in my van. A replacement controller is not the cure. I also found level 2 was adequate for keeping contents cold if well stocked.

Since I posted I switched on the ignition and the fridge came back on!

I’ve just had this happen on my 2021. Fridge randomly switched itself off. The. I was able to switch it on got the frost symbol on the display, thought all was good until woke up in the morning to a 13.5C fridge! Following this thread I tried switch off/on via the control panel, no joy. Then switched the ignition on and hey presto fridge is working fine again.
I should add we’re on hook/up batteries fully charged no other issues.
Maybe the controller going faulty or something else?
Thanks for this thread as there are so many threads on fridges not working because of low voltage and operator error, true faults are harder to find!

Hi, happened again to us last night. Same, on EHU, batteries fully charged. Light had also gone off. Switched on ignition and back on again. Due a service next couple of months so will get it checked out and report back.

I've dad same problem 5-6 times randomly, on EHU or not. it seems that it does't happen if you leave it alone but probably when you "do" something (till now never happened when I left the van closed and go away)..I hope

Yup, ours has turned off randomly a couple of times too ……….. no idea why…….

The controller is not the issue. I had mine replaced under warranty and the issue reoccured..

Interesting. So a short circuit, that crash the Controller ?
