Hi all , our fridge in 600 flashes all lights x 5 times . Read somewhere that is due to high outside temps ! Can someone tell us how to reset pls , turn off big red ?

Thanks

Hello,

This symptom occurs when the AGM battery is around 40% charge ° (about 12.4 Volts). The refrigerator flashes 5 times and then 1 more time.

If this sequence of flashes is not like yours it means that the problem is another..

Here bleow the Dometic Fridge Error Codes
  • Error 1 – LED flashes 1x // Battery error, the power supply to the refrigerator is insufficient. This will be by far the most common mistake.
  • Error 2 – LED flashes 2x // Fan error
  • Error 3 – LED flashes 3x // Compressor error
  • Error 4 – LED flashes 4x // Compressor speed error
  • Error 5 – LED flashes 5x // ECU overheats (control unit), this can happen at extremely high outside temperatures.
  • Error 6 – LED flashes 6x // NTC error (temperature sensor error)
  • Error 7 – LED flashes 7x // Communication error control unit

Thanks for reply . It done it over the weekend in the high outside temps the error 5 but I reset and turned on last night and checked it this morning and had failed again ! A visit to Breeze then !

A bit late to the party, but our experience with the fridge and it's undervoltage hysterics are that in order to completely reset the 5-1 error, you need to turn off the power supply to the fridge, not just turn the fridge on & off via the fridge control buttons at the top behind the fridge door!

To do this, either

1) turn off the big red 12v battery isolator in the rear electrical cupboard

or

2) pull the 15A fuse that feeds the fridge, also in the rear electrical cupboard

On our GC600 we have also installed a proper air guide for the condensor fan, which as standard is completely unshrouded, and just blows air in the general direction of the hot condensor and has no ducting to prevent any hot air that does get blown off that condensor from being recycled back around again. I have also added a second fan that pulls air directly from the side grill and blows it over the compressor, compressor control electrics and helps prevent hot air re-cycling around the condensor fan. Once again with this van, we are basically doing the development and validation work the VW didn't do....... ;-) Don't get me wrong, some bits of this van are really nicely engineered, but a lot of it looks like the work experience kid was left alone to finish it on a Friday afternoon whilst everyone else went home.... lol
