Your English is excellent.
First question, how are you getting to the U.K.?
Hook of Holland to Harwich ferry, or via Dover ferry link or Euroshuttle tunnel?

My personal preference would be overnight ferry from Hook of Holland to U.K.

Plan a good trip and do some research on where you want to go and what you would like to see. Think about the distance you want to drive. Do not drive in London for example but stay outside and take a train in. If you put some things and areas you would like to go to, I am sure the great people on this forum can help you.

Your English is better than a lot of native speakers!! I wish my German was as good.
How long are you coming for?
When are you coming over?
May and September are generally good weather months although we are all drowning in rain at the moment! Expect rain at some point in your journey.
Midges arrive on the west coast of Scotland around 1st June.
School holidays in England are mid July and all of August but it is 2 weeks earlier in Scotland.
Suggest the New Forest in Hampshire/Dorset, Brecon in Wales and also the Pembrokeshire Coast, Cumbria (the Lake District). Cities to visit are Bath and Cambridge amongst many others.
There are so many beautiful areas that other people will add.
Try our wonderful pubs where you can eat and drink, some offer camping spots too. Some are not worth visiting twice!
We are fast becoming a cashless society so you will only need a small amount of cash.
What else can we tell you?

Don’t expect German standards of driving in the UK .
Your English will be better than a lot of British native speakers .
The country, like most, is diversely different, people, architecture and scenery.
I’m sure everyone here will agree, just ask if you want to know anything. Were a helpful bunch (mostly). .

You’ve come to the right place for good tips :thumb .

If you share your outline plan with the forum, you can expect to receive an avalanche of help :)

Morning, Ex- Edinburgh resident here if thats a help for you in Scotland. Looking forward to your plan and helping where possible.

I travel southern Germany - Hull / mid England a fair bit so not knowing where you are, I prefer the ferry Dunkirk - Dover or better, Europort - Hull. It feels like a proper way to start the trip and a big help at the end instead of loads of driving to Dover.

Book the Cali as a car, not a camper, unless you have bikes on the back.
I also recommend Greggs "Steakbakes" as the gourmet delight of champions.... have fun!

Time of year and duration of trip will have a factor and where to visit.

Once you have those details , post it here and I'm sure you'll receive a lot of useful info.

Hello Jurrie,
I'm sure your English will be far better than our German so don't worry about that.
Perhaps try one of our festivals whilst you're here? I can thoroughly recommend CamperJam, the club has it's own camping area and I'm sure you'll make new friends there.
We have some beautiful countryside and lots of interesting places to see and lots of history if you're interested in that.
Let us know which areas you're thinking of visiting and when and if you have any specific interests like airshows, steam rallies, historical sites, museums, coast, mountains, forests etc. I'm sure you'll get more recommendations than you have time to see. Good luck and enjoy the planning.

If you want to go to London this site is very popular with Germans. Train to London quick and site is good.
