99% of the time it won't be a problem with a folded cycle rack. Worst case is that at check in you will be asked to pay a supplement.

I always book as a car under 6m with loaded bikes. I don't even know if the van with loaded bikes is more or less than 6m but we have never had a problem.

I have now managed to alter the booking for just the return journey.

I nearly always book via Aferry. You can specify your exact vehicle. We have bikes on the back of our Cali and I just add 0.5m to the dimensions. Never a problem - and you get some good deals too!
