The original struts did just about manage to lift it with a bit of help but I also upgraded the struts to https://vwt5upgrades.com/products/t6-heavy-duty-gas-strut-kit-tailgate (these are not included as went with the van).

I saw this whilst picking up an awning i was buying off SpeedyVW - thanks again - very happy.

Seen this in person today when picking something else up. Looks a really well put together bit of kit! Doesn’t stick out too far but has loads of storage space available. Excellent alternative to roof box storage.
