sorry for bringing this up again after so long ; our T6 199( new in Jan 2019) is having some issues with the coolant levels, its done about 75,000 miles. August 25th driving home from Farnham to East Yorkshire the low coolant light came on when we were 20 miles from home.
On checking the expansion vessel was virtually empty.
Called on VW assist ( we have the extended warranty ) and the technician who attended was quick to diagnose a possible leak in the "charge cooler unit" with the instruction to not drive it and take it to the VW agent (JCT600). Contacted JCT 600 the following morning to book the California into Hull van centre, first available slot being 9th September! so the California was out of use for two weeks, which was fairly inconvenient.
Delivered to the workshop on Monday evening and ready for collection by Friday afternoon, when we collected it.( Testing on the engine was done when it was cold!, but they said that they had a problem with a gasket sealing)
Drove over to York to visit family so a journey of about 60miles, checked the coolant yesterday, before going out, to find that the expansion vessel is brim full which can't be right, especially since the engine was stone cold, and no trained tech would fill it to that level.
We haven't been told what the technician has done, but clearly the Charge Cooler hasn't been replaced, although there's evidence that the hoses into it have been off! ( we were told by the VW assist technician that these hoses are bonded onto the cooler as they have to contain pressure up to 1.5 Bar.
The California has a full service history done by JCT600 Hull & Sheffield.
Has anyone had any similar issue or any thoughts on the possible cause?
