Control Panel Issue?

After several days travelling with fridge on I noticed this morning that some time during the night my fridge had switched off (control panel light on and compressor on/off ok when we went to bed) I also noticed camping mode had also deactivated. As an aside I also noticed the last aux heater setting level used a few nights previous had also reset to a higher level. Looks like the panel had something going on which caused it to reboot or something similar.

We were on hook up and batteries all healthy and fully charged. Nothing other than fridge was on when we went to bed. I know there have been other threads with random fridge drop off. But not sure same as this

Any ideas?

Should have added everything switched back on ok this morning so no idea what happened.

I'd have said random fridge switch off that I have seen a few times. But the fact that camping mode went too, along with the changes to heater settings points to something else I would say. Watching the thread with interest

I have a couple of times knocked the control panel off button when getting dressed in the morning. Quite easy to do…?

Yes it’s a bit of an odd one, and as nothing of note drawing any power other than fridge overnight (on at level 3, cool outside so not working hard or anything) no idea what would have triggered the panel to reset itself.

The only ‘different’ thing I was aware of last evening was hearing a whirring off/on noise left passenger side of front dashboard. The sound you get when either your infotainment or main system is booting up (can also sound a little like a small pump starting and stopping). It was doing it for while started long after we had parked up it was in camping mode, no heater, radio etc was on so didn’t know why it was doing this. Some time when this was ‘whirring’ on off I would catch a slight flicker of light on the control panel but nothing more and fridge light etc was still all on ok at that point. Strange one!

Any update. Got the same behaviour on T6.1 2021

Hi, nothing new to say other than it still happens in an entirely random way. Guaranteed to happen at least once if we are away more than 5 days consecutively and occasionally happens even if only away for a couple of days. Can have a few 3 to 4 day trips when it’s ok. Usually camping mode drops off as well given up trying to figure it out ‍♂️ and just keep an eye out for it happening and hopefully notice it before anything spoils in the fridge.

Same behaviour. it's occuring once per "holidays".
i don't know if we can reset the control unit.

Am watching with interest. I had exactly the same thing on my MY23 over the summer during a single night stay. We were on batteries not hookup though (levels were good). It confused me too since it had switched off both the fridge and camping mode. The only thing odd we noticed during the same trip was the entertainment unit having “a moment” when starting the van - almost like it had crashed and was rebooting. Sometimes I suspect a background software update or something, but no idea if that would be silent.

I very occasionally have the fridge switch itself off (maybe 3 times in 80 nights away) and the entertainment unit have a slow boot (similar) so have just shrugged it off as normal gremlins. Not managed to link it to any other symptoms or circumstances yet, but this was the first time I’d noticed both fridge and camping mode switch off together.

We’ve had this randomly……. I just put it down to another one of those weird and unexplainable VW gremlins!

Is it possible to change the frigde unit controller without removing the fridge ?

Hum.

Inspecting connection in order to plug a diagnostic led to try to see the error once the fridge switch to off. I see that there is already a yallow cable between to the D socket and the main socket but the console seems to not translate correctly the error to the central unit as we don't have any error.
Do you think i can disconnect it to put a led ?
