Considering swapping T6 Ocean for T7 Ocean

We drove the T7 and its a great vehicle to drive. Drives like an SUV rather than a van. We were considering a T7 and a very low mileage T6.1. There is no doubt in my mind that the T7 is absolutely the better drive and it also has the very latest digital dash etc. Now the downsides. VW have obviously picked the multivan platform to optimise costs. They would appear to have done theor market research and decided (rightly or wrongly) that the use is a one night or 2 night camper. They've also sought to optimise costs for their various markets by combining the platform build to have left and right doors. Downside - upstairs and downstairs bed much narrower 100mm-150mm type of thing. Second burner is gone. Storage space under the sink/hob is kaput. Fridge is rather like a beer fridge. So, we decided as we find the T6.1 beds narrow enough, then going smaller was not an option. It is an each to their own thing and our choice is a late (2024) T6.1 rather than the T7.

Our diesel is 5 today, happy birthday van.
Engine wise, it’s been perfect. No warning lights of any sort, never needed to add oil between annual services. It’s on 49,000 miles.
It runs mainly on Shell V Power diesel, very few short runs, and occasionally I put it in 4th in manual for a few miles which is about 4000 revs at 70mph. So I’d say it’s been pampered a bit.
So hopefully next 5 years will be as trouble free. Time will tell.
Same here, had a T6 for 4 years without any issues, now into year 4 with a T6.1 again no issues. I suspect the percentage of vans with Adblue issues compared to the actual number of vans on the road will be extremely low.

Yes, and I’m happy with it. Does 30mpg and I’m cool with that. I didn’t want another diesel.
I can concur the fuel consumption is good as 5K in and averaging, as shown on the dash just over 37mpg! I have got just over 40 on a couple of journeys, loaded to near maximum weight.
Its not that difficult to achieve either with a little bit of road craft thrown in. Not so sure of fuel consumption on short journeys as I dont use it as a daily driver.

Be good to get some numbers as I suspect it’s actually quite high. The fact that VW have no tanks left tells you something.

Could be the exact opposite they don’t stock tanks because the demand is so low.
