Has anyone experience this fault on their T7 please? Symptoms are that the doors unlock and lock continuously when driving at slow speeds and the sliding doors do not open very easily on the first attempt from the outside. I also get a 'electronic childproof lock' error on the driving display. Just a minor issue but annoying all the same. VW said it was a known issue but no official fix has been released via the VW bulletins yet.

Nope, news to me. Oney thing I had was the N/S sliding door not opening from the outside once after a long period of not being used. I opened it from the dash button and it reset, no problem since

We had an issue with sliding door not opening from the outside the problem was fixed by checking the childproof lock switch on the inside of the sliding door which you move with a straight blade screw driver We noticed that the switch was just off the off once put back it made a whirring sound and has been OK since 6 months ago. This is on a T6 California. I don't know if this will help you.

nickyboy83 - see my post, had this clunk clunk sound when coming to a stop or near stop, turned out it was the locking mechanism in the sliding doors. I also had issues with the doors opening from the key fob and the nbutton in the external handles was hard to squeese. All fixed by the dealer.

The childlock error message does come up on mine, awaiting an update from VW to resolve

Thanks Stu. Your issue is exactly as described. It went into the dealer and was temporarily fixed although they said there wasn’t an official remedy yet and seemed to be fine for a few weeks. I pressed the child lock button to test it and sure enough we were back to square 1. Guess it’s a waiting game now. My guess is software related.

Hi, we’re having identical issues with our T7. Also noticed when vehicle is locked you can open the rear passenger side sliding door. Waited a while for an appointment but going in next Monday. So far tried no end of fixes! Hope you’re getting somewhere on yours.

Hi Nikki, exactly the same as you, the rear slider can be opened when it's locked and it sets off the alarm. Would have thought we'd have a fix by now but no news from the dealer. Please keep us updated if you have any joy on Monday.
Thanks

Hi, quick update. Van is still being looked at and an upgrade being done. Like you we have been told there is no official fix released. We get the van back tmrw (hopefully) and will drop you an update then.

Thanks Nikki, it's one thing having it unsecure on our driveway with no valuables inside but we're going to France next week and worried about lack of security with a week's worth of luggage inside. Am going to insist on a temporary replacement whilst we're away. Amazed VW haven't resolved this yet. Our dealership told us they had 3 more waiting in line for the fix.

Hiya-vehicle still in Garage. Sounds like they sort of fixed it but not the childlock? Anyway they said we can’t get it until Monday. I have contacted dealer we bought van from, they said they haven’t heard of this issue. Spoke to VW HQ who are aware of the issue but no fix. Like you I’m amazed. We are also overseas. Will update you again Monday. On a separate issue, recommend if you haven’t already, leave your Pop top up overnight before France. On 4 occasions our pop developed a fault and wouldn’t lower, now resolved by Ewan removing the fuse for 30 seconds and putting it back in!

We have van back with a temp fix all seems to be working. Not going to risk pressing the childlock button. Still waiting for news on official fix and have also raised with VW HQ.
