What’s the reason for using a switch, can it not just be left on or is it because you have to switch it off whilst the engine is running?

I don't believe a switch is actually necessary but If you need al the power from your leisure batt or if you store you car inside without sun light this switch might come in handy. Maybe a little bit of over engineering but I like switches....

This looks great! Has it been working well? I am just about to do the same on mine. Would I be ok to just connect it across the relay terminals instead of going to the leisure battery with the red wire?
