Hi All,

One of my tailgate chairs managed to shed some parts. It's the attachment of the arm to the main body, as per pic:

So, I bought the chair repair kit and also the required screws and thought it would be easy....

However, when I tried to screw in the new fitting, there was no thread to pull it in. On closer inspection of the underside of the arms, I can clearly see another missing part compared to the side which is OK:

So, my questions are, do I have all the correct parts to fit this? I ordered these two things:

And secondly, how on earth do I get the part that's missing back in place. It looks like it's impossible to fit into that small plastic space.

Many thanks in advance if someone can help!

Is the gold "bush" not a Clinch nut (a threaded Rivet / Insert) that need to be inserted and pulled tight to expand and create your "missing" part?
If so you will need a specific tool to make that work!

On closer inspection the bit you have encircled looks like a Nylock Half Nut so you might need one of these with the matching thread to your long screw

Many thanks for the advice. I've actually managed to find the half nut that you described where it must have come apart so hopefully using that, some thin pliers and some patience, I'll get it sorted. Cheers.

File down a standard nut. Try it on the bolt first. Slot it in with some grease and hold it still with pliers or a screwdriver. Then tighten. Easy job
