Hi all,
I have a T6.1 California Ocean and on a drive today, I noticed that there was a folding wing mirror function on the controls. So mid drive, I use it. Ah - it works, both mirrors folded. But on unfolding them, only the LH worked, the RH one was stuck. Tried a number of times. So pulled into a garage to refuel and sort out the mirror. Had to gently help the wing mirror unfold.
Then later on in the journey, I found that the electric window controls on the right side stopped working. As did all the mirror adjustments. The lock/unlock works and the electric window on the passenger side works. Then when I got home, I had an error message that popped up on the dash FAULT ELECTRIC CHILD LOCK. This has since gone but I'm having no luck with the control panel. There is power going there - all the buttons have lights.
I have tried the 5 seconds holding the switches up and down but no joy.
I thought to look for a fuse diagram but I'm totally lost with that - photos of the fuse boxes I have found on the downloads look nothing like the fuse box I found to the right of the steering wheel and in the engine compartment. I shall upload photos I took just now...
Can anyone help me out - firstly to find the fuse for the electric windows (dunno if there are 2?) and point me to the right fuse box diagram.
And suggest how I might trouble shoot this problem.
Thanks in advance.

If the switch unit has illumination and the lock/unlock works then it’s unlikely to be fuse related.

If you can remove the switch panel then start with a visual inspection, there may be something obvious.

I think the different switches have different connections so get the voltmeter out and confirm power and earth at each one.

Yeah.... good shout. I asked Chat GPT and it gave me a number of easy things to check up and the next thing it suggested was that I should disconnect the battery for 10 mins and then try to reset the window switches.

It would be useful to know if any Diagnostic/Fault codes have been registered . Carista or OBDeleven software/OBD dongle are very useful in these situations to clear such faults. Disconnecting the engine battery for 10 minutes or so does the same but you do need to drive the vehicle for a few miles after to reset the warning lights on the Dashboard and then reset the windows time & date.

Just disconnected the battery for 10 mins and it threw it loads of errors - manoeuvre braking currently unavailable, stabilisation control ESC, Hill hold assist, start stop system, lane assist currently unavailable, electric child lock. I will have to drive it for a few miles as you suggested and see how it goes afterwards.

I did take off the switch panel and disconnected and reconnected all the connectors too....

Right - off for a drive now.

Well all the errors cleared other than the child lock but that's part of the switch panel. So after all that - still not working. And I've ordered a Carista OBD reader to see what I can see....but I guess it'll have to goto a main dealer for them to have a poke around.
