Can anyone recommend any sites on The Gower?

We're planning on visiting The Gower in September and are looking for recommendations. Someone reviewed Three Cliffs last year but a lot of the other recommendations are quite old and sites can (and often do) change! Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

If you are in the C&MC there's a fantastic CL but you need to be a member and have your own loo etc.

Three Cliffs - Can be busy. Has facilities. Set pitches. Great views. Don't camp on the edge when it's blowing a gale.

Hill End Camping. Slightly more relaxed. Has facilities. No set pitches. Less of a view.

Access to the beach via a steep path.

There is also another at Penmaen which is just down the road from that - Nicholaston Farm camping http://www.nicholastonfarm.co.uk/

Port Eynon is a lovely bay. Sky sea campsite is right on the beach - https://www.porteynon.com/

These sites are all on South Gower. North Gower is also lovely.

Right at the end of the North Gower road is Hillend campsite, Llangennith. Great surfing beach. http://www.hillendcamping.com/

Lots of CAMC CL sites on Gower too.

The Hillend place gets full really quickly....you'll need to book. There's one on the way to Llangennith called Kennexstone...I've driven past countless times and it looks good, and gets good reviews.
(I've never camped on Gower ..I live there!)

We have stayed at Nicholaston Farm camping http://www.nicholastonfarm.co.uk/ however it seems that onesies are compulsory on Saturday evenings , everyone was wearing them...

Visited Three cliff Bay Penmaen in May. Wonderful friendly site outside school holidays. Dog friendly private beach below.

Wonderful walk from site to end of Oxwich beach on coastal path through woodland/sand dunes(nature reserve) & back mostly on the beach .

Rhossili bay /Worms head worth a visit.

Had a great meal at King Arthur Hotel . Had to sit outside ,not dog friendly inside.
We enjoyed the area so much we are going back in September.

+1 for hill end - ‘gennith is lovely, worms head bay is beautiful and if the wind isn’t too bad then the surf can be great. Wake up in the morning, stroll 5 mins down to the beach and spend the day surfing. Haven’t been for a few years but the cafe did good food and drinks rinks last time I was there.

Stayed at Pitton Cross caravan park in May and it was clean, quiet and a 5 min walk across the field to the sea. No hedges between pitches but no problem as had wind breaks for privacy. Loo was a walk away so porta pot was very handy .

I did not know that! I do know that every time I go past it says "campsite full"!

The Gower is a cracking area to visit, camp and explore. But ...... with the recent dry spell you’ll be very lucky to get a pitch on the main sites mentioned (all are great) as everyone is camping!
https://www.porteynon.com/ is your best bet as it’s very open - not sure it even has pitches, just park where’s there’s a gap.
http://www.showcaves.co.uk/camp_site.html if you fancy a 40 min drive into the Gower is nice too.

Hilend gets our vote too, although I have to say we haven’t tried anywhere else because we always have such a good time there. We tend to avoid the summer school holidays because you can’t book a pitch and it’s alway really really busy. Good play park for youngsters.

The washing/showering facilities are great and plenty of hot water. The beach is brilliant for kite flying and is lovely and clean. The waves can be excellent for a spot of ‍ or bodyboarding. The diner at the top of the site is not bad at all and the shop stocks most things that you may need if you run out of essentials. There’s some great walks, including an old radar site which is just over the big hill behind the camp site, only a 20 minute walk to the top.

Really glad we read the posts, now we have more places to try out too.

I stayed at Nicholaston farm campsite in late June. It was a well kept clean site with friendly helpful staff and has the best shower and toilet block I've come across on a campsite so far. Free wi fi was rubbish though, couldn't even send or receive emails.

Overlooking Oxwich Bay, and a ten minute walk to the beach, it was an excellent position to explore the coast path in both directions and enjoy some of the beautiful scenery of the Gower.

I love staying at the caves, has the new toilet block been finished yet? It was started at least 5 years ago, old one is OK. Very friendly site, mobile reception not good, great pub across road. Caves worth a visit. Great for walking and could also visit Hendhyd falls as seen in I think Batman https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/brecon-beacons/trails/henrhyd-falls-and-nant-llech-walk

We should keep the place a secret or I will not be able to make a booking and please do not site your van in my spot!

Gowerton Caravan Club Site, Gowerton, Swansea
is also good if you want to cycle down the old railway to the Mumbles

+1 for Nicholaston farm. Handy shop and cafe on site which seems to double as the village shop. Friendly, family run for several generations.

Just home from three cliffs. The best shower/loos I’ve ever used. They seemed to be cleaning them all the time too so even though busy they were always spotless.
Word of warning thiugh, if you’re there when the met office puts out a warning of wind heed it. 8 tents and a number of awning did not survive the night Friday. The shower blocks became refugee camps. This was in the front field so on the cliff, second field had minor casualties only. Our drive away became a stand alone when we were forced to take it off the van. It survived though so another plus for the sheltapod!
