Buying New Leisure Batteries

The battery under the passenger seat, going on the code looks to be 2015, the one in the back of the van under the bed though I can’t work out, read through the coding suggests it’s 1996, which can’t be right, the van is 2011.

Unless it’s the first digits of this code, which is 11, so could be 2011, however the guide says you only look at the first digits when there is 2 lines of engraving, not one (photo attached).

The other bit of info is since I last posted this message the display now reads 12.1V and 50%, so it’s dropped 30% in 2 weeks, and the van’s just been sat there with no use. Is this a concerning sign?

Wondering what to do as we have a long trip to France coming up, though we’ll be on EHU almost all the time on this one

Both Leisure batteries should be same age, type, and capacity.for optimal performance.
If you are going to be on hookup then you should be fine, but if not on hookup then they may not last long, certainly not the 3 to 5 days one would expect

Ok thanks. It would help financially not to have to replace them both right now so maybe we’ll make that a job for the autumn!

Hi all, I didn’t do this last year but going to do it now. That linked thread above recommend the Advanced AGM 100ah batteries (which were a good price), but others seem to say go with Varta or Yuasa (who also seem to do 100ah).

Any thoughts on why I wouldn’t get a 100ah but instead go for an 80 as recommended in this thread?

Ah, on closer AI research it seems the Varta 100ah is too large and the Yuasa is not AGM (it’s EFB/wet) and also larger.

So seems like it’s an Adcanced AGM 100ah or. Varta 80ah

Anyone had bad or good experiences with ADVANCED?

Are you sure the 100ah batteries will fit? I went for the Varta 80ah when I swapped mine. I couldn’t find a replacement with greater ah that wasn’t too big to fit. Only takes an hour or two to swap and a very satisfying task.
