Buying a new vacuum cleaner.

I retro fitted a genuine reverse camera and noticed there is a 12v switched on that from the ignition that runs in a loom in the back cupboard where the gas bottle is so split it from there

Not direct for me but i am sure at some point someone would like to know more details on this when wanting to do likewise...
Did you take pictures while doing this? Or more info ...

Sorry no pics be doing front speaker upgrade today but will for sure take some next time I'm emptying out the rear cupboard!

I have a Dyson and it annoys me a lot. Fills very quickly and stops sucking. Have to use fingers to empty. It's great for a quick tidy, stairs and van but not good for cleaning house. If I was choosing again I'd get a gtech Hoover and handheld

Yes a switched ignition feed so it only charges whilst driving and in answer to the other question it was a retro fit factory driving camera so i had to get the 12v switch from the front underdash fuse box (the middle row top 15a one, its the wiper washers) and used an "add-a-fuse" then ran the cable up the a-piller and used a cable rod to get the wire all the way along the van without take the trim off.

Took me a long time to discover on my V6, but if you press the red lid release button a second time the whole transparent cover comes off and emptying is much easier.

It also took me a long time to discover that I was using the turbo boost the whole time. This is the button on the back that changes the suckiness. With it on it will suck up the whole planet, but it only last six minutes. With it off I get 15 minutes plus, as per Dyson spec.

I thought so purely from the battery life (doubled) and having used it and my sister v6 it is the better machine.
Plus I had to make so many decisions about what version of the v6 I thought it was easier to get the v8 as there was one model with all the things

Guarantees are hard to get at an early purchase stage, because this model can put unbearable,loads on the purchaser leading to possible replacement at a later date
Running costs can, over the years, mount up it is true, but, if you do your homework at the time of purchase, then this can be offset by additional benefits including going out to work for you, cooking and cleaning and conjugal assistance after the 9 o'clock watershed. These models can be quite hard to get hold of though.

If you still have the original bill of sale, I should check the small print just in case your vacuum cleaner ever reads this thread.

For corded you can’t beat Miele, I rang them and asked why they had never entered the cordless market, can’t solve the performance issue they said.
I use a handbrush..

I bought a Vax blade 32v after reading countless reviews, said to be almost as good as the Dyson, and even does some things better - but at around half the cost of the Dyson V8. I have no complaints, it does what it says on the tin, and I no longer use my corded vacuum.

I've no idea what it actually does better than the Dyson though.......

I have had one of the Gtech Multi hoovers, it lasted a good few years and was really useful. I got the car kit for it and it also worked well in the Cali. It finally gave up the ghost last week, just as Gtech sent an email saying the Floor Power was on special. That arrived yesterday and first reports are that it can do everything the Multi can do for the same price but with an extra car kit.

I have a few of Gtech’s items and rate them all.

I just checked the special offer. It was due to finish yesterday, but still seems to be working. The code is XB76 and gives you £100 off if bundled.

Wait, I thought this was all about vacuums for the house, or maybe for hoovering the van at the end of a big trip... But do folks really take a vacuum cleaner with them on holiday then? What's wrong with a little dustpan and brush??

What next, one of those Dyson electric 'air purifiers'?

I am also considering a Dyson. It would be nice to use for the occational vaccuum arround the house but also taking it with me in the Cali. V8 or V6? Is the V6 as small as the V8 but more stuff delivered?
