Hi there,
We are off in our Cali on Easter Monday for a 5 day trip to Bruges any recommendations on which site or whether to stay for a night in Ghent would be welcomed. We could actually stay anywhere in Belgium or Holland so welcome to any itinerary recommendations or places to stay,
Thanks very much

Ghent is a lovely walkable city with a campsite at Beauveland a short cycle along the canal, but it can be very waterlogged in wet weather.
Brugges has a lovely city site 'Memling', again a short cycle from the centre.
Have you considered Delft (large but very good site at Delftse Hout is a 15 minute walk), a great base for Den Hague, Rottetdam, Gouda, Kirkenhof...I could go on and on. All diable by tram or cheap train.

thanks so much I will relay to my husband I have visited these places but he hasn't maybe we should go to the netherlands then instead! Its; only for a short time so we were not sure if that would be a bit too far ?

Have a look at urban gardens in Ghent and also Ypres. We’ve stayed in both and they’re conveniently close to the centre, Ypres much more so.

If you want a nice site in Bruges with good bus service locally and walkable to the centre, try Camping Memling. Clean and tidy site with excellent facilities and not too far to the French ports.

We rather like Mechelen, and have stayed (before Cali ownership) many times. Has a wonderful Het Anker Brewery which, from the beer brewing byproduct, also make our favourite Whisky!

thanks very much we will go to Ghent first after your suggestion really helpful thank you

We like Bruges and Ghent, both are nice cities, and it’s easy and reasonable to travel between them by train. We stayed at Camping Memling in Bruges and used the bus to get intro the city.

Another vote for Camping Memling in Bruges - quite easy to get to Ghent for the day by bus or train.

Note that Beauveland and Urban Gardens in Ghent are, I think, the same site. It is within a recreation park so is chilled, the pitches are mostly within corals of about 6 units, but some need a long hook up cable.
As has been noted by others, a goid calue train links Brugges with Ghent and Antwerp...you really do not want to drive into Antwerp but it us a wonderful city to visit.
Have fun. Buy chocolate and beer.

We stayed in Camping Memling for a night in November was well situated - about a 10-15 minute walk to the outskirts of the old town. Would recommend it
