Hi, looking to get my dog booked onto the ferry with me for later in year (only a few dog places left on sailing I want). One thing ive noticed is the requirement for a dog muzzle. Never taken him abroad before but am sure most dogs ive seen on previous BF sailings haven’t had muzzles on. Can anyone confirm how strict they are with it please?

I've used Brittany ferries three times with our dog and it 'depends'. You will almost certainly be asked at check-in if you have one but on board - in my experience - they tend to be quite relaxed. Our dog is a bit of a Houdini and manages to remove hers anyway!

As an aside I travelled on Corsica Ferries between Toulon & Sardinia last year and I’ve never experienced such a dog friendly vessel!

Depends on the crossing you use. We’ve only ever sailed overnight so a dog cabin is obligatory. Muzzle only required between car deck and cabin so 5 mins max. Hound stays in the cabin apart from a walk down the passage to the wee deck area. All cabins in the passage are dogs so nobody bothers with muzzles for a toilet trip.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, he’d be in the cabin with me. Ill get a muzzle for him for the walk to cabin from van then.
