Beach Camper floor area

Can anyone advise the floor area of the Beach Camper with the seat in the sitting, back of area position? Considering a Beach Camper and one of the thoughts is getting bikes in (without front wheel). Many thanks, Ken

Not clear what you are asking? It’s possible to sit in the seat and get a full size large MTB inside wheels on, we manage 3 bikes in for the family of varying sizes, not sure what you mean by “back of area”?

Thanks for the reply and I need to try and clarify. I was thinking of the floor area between the seats accessed from the sliding door with the seats slid back. I have an arrangement in the car at the moment with the front wheel off and fork mounted on a bracket so it is shorter and stable in an upright position. I was thinking back wheel to kitchen and front wheel at door.

Gotcha now. I know my bike doesn’t fit. Just been and measured from fridge to closed door 1460mm. Seen some guys put roadbike with rear wheel between front seats and forks on a mount.

Have a look at the Vanessa arco system. Storage down one side and bikes down the other. Honestly I have found you can have a camper or you can have bikes inside but just not worth the frustration trying to do both. Good luck.

tbh it is not trivial in the car and it becomes a 2 seater.! Thanks for your help.

A change of approach to make it easier to carry bikes inside, removed the bench and use the 2 second row seats only. One seat pushed forwards and one bike with wheel off, second bike fitted between the seats.

If you don’t have the bench, have you thought about the VanEssa Arco system. Works with the single seats and has a split bed system. It’s quite flexible as you can do exactly what you have done in the photo but still have a single bed.

It is the plan to pick one up, had a great video call with them to check out how it works and will be ordering. Not cheap but seems to be the ideal solution. Can also be used with the bench seat, but we find for travelling being able to recline for rear passengers makes a difference.

I’d be very interested to see how it goes. I’ve had my eye on one for a while. They do a shortened bed for the Cali Beach so you can also fit an interior pod if you want to. The single pullout version has the most flexibility of course.
I’ve not spoken to them yet, but the video call you had was very decent of them. Would you collect from them? Probably avoid import duty that way, at least that’s what I was thinking.

I am based in Poland so I would drive over and collect. For me it’s the ideal especially as I have the pull out cooker which limits pods. I may drop in on the way back from Italy in 2 weeks time, otherwise it’s a dedicated trip. Already have the window bags so this would finish it off.

Chris who is the guy in the videos is happy to do a video tour, just drop them an email. I have to buy a smaller fridge to replace my current one so pushes the overall cost up, but still makes the most sense for what we do.

Ah I hadn’t realised your location. Yes makes sense to collect. If I buy one I would do the same even from the UK. Yes I think you need a 28L fridge, but with the single seat that folds very easily you should be able to access from inside as well. I look forward to some pics in the Cali once you have it all set up!

yes you can access the fridge from inside if you buy the slider, have to move the seat forwards, but you can then slide the fridge forwards…

Yes that’s what I was referring to with the fridge. In fact for me, that photo is how I would setup the van as I travel solo.
Bed permanently down on the far side, single chair and a pod… perfect for one! I carry a Brompton so don’t need such a large bike storage area.
Until the time comes to buy the Arco, I’ll keep tinkering with my setup inside the Beach
