Bamboo cut out chopping board for gas rings

We don’t use the gas hob much so leave the excellent Yes Campers bamboo boards in place all the time. They are great chopping boards. We also have an air fryer and induction hob that sit nicely on it - very stable. Also good for bears and flowers

Hi Sam, thank you very much for answering this question, I love your photo!

Thanks for your quick reply!
In our previous T5 California I mainly used the left hub for no really good reason.
In two weeks we'll have a "new"T6.1 California. If we would use this left bamboo chopping board with the right gas hub burning, would the glass sink cover be at risk by uneven heating when closed? I also might consider your aluminium sink cover for this reason.
I'll have a look at the shipping costs to the Netherlands...

So SOME owners are using a L or R chopping board and just 1 burner.
Just like the New T7 California.

Using the RH burner with the sink lid closed is surely asking for trouble?

Must say, I like the idea of getting a right hand one for cutting and chopping then clearing the “food cuttings” for want of a better phrase into the sink for collection / clean up at a later stage of cooking. Keeping the open gas burner on the left for cooking with said chopped ingredients. So would like to see a right hand one that doesn’t cover the ignition @YesCampervan ;)

The coffee shuffle isn’t so much of an issue for me, due to solar and EcoFlow I generally use a small portable electric kettle for the morning brew rather than gas. More sustainable IMO and quicker than the gas burner brewing process.

@WelshGas to weigh in on the single vs double gas ring. I would say 50/50 on cooking and preparing meals in the Cali with both rings. Nice to be able to boils rice / pasta with one and reheat a stew (or similar) from home on the other at the same time but not always essential. As easy enough to keep the “carb” warm while the rest is reheated. If cooking from scratch, definitely require the double.
