Seems that in Transporter world 95k miles isn’t really considered as being an issue.

In California world 95k miles some would consider its past its useful life.

Odd, seeing how they are the same base vehicle.

There are a number of people who see the California as an ‘extra’ and always want a newer one on the driveway. The camping layout and experience hasn’t really changed since the T5 was introduced in 2003. My 2012 is still ace - drives and camps brilliantly.

Yes if you are in the market for an ocean and happy with higer millage van . Plenty of life in her yet.

I wouldn’t go for a T with 95k or a cali I think it’s more to do with what you can afford (budget) unless you are someone who likes to keep from new.
I would sell around the 85k mile mark, but who know may run my t6.1 van into 100s

This cheap T6 has split the camps. Looking at what some are asking for late T5s (not 5.1s) with over 100k miles, this looks value to me (dsg, euro 6, comfort dash). Vans get harder to maintain (parts not service) based on age not miles, so I think it's a good prospect for those that thought they were looking at buying a much older van.

Seems like an ok Cali, miles are above average but sensible start in terms of asking price (£40k, 62,000 miles, T6 2017 Ocean)

Some would say safer engine option being the 150 too

Stock levels of T6.1 can only go one way seeing how’s there’s no new ones.

Regarding the T7 being an epic fail, I’ve been around long enough for every new Cali to be labeled a ‘fail’ but people get used to the design and they sell by the bucket loads.

Appreciate that this is a major change, but I imagine people are quietly ordering them.

I do expect T6.1 values to stabilise after dropping in the last few months.

A brand new T6.1 Cali with can on finance for £64k, so hard for people to justify spending £60k on a used one.

I am sure some people will order them each to their own but you are getting a much less practical campervan in my opinion
The values always drop off at this time of year but I bet as the summer approaches the values will be strong on the t6.1

It will be fun to hear users opinions of the reduced bed widths. I can't see 2 adults fitting in either with any semblance of comfort. Escaping for a cheeky midnight pee without disturbing your partner will prove interesting.

He would be wrong. Poptop bed width is 1.13m and the lower sardine class bed is 1.06m wide.

One thing I noticed from Chris' vids is that there is noticeably less tension in the bellows vs the T6.1. VW prob realised too much tension increases the chances of water infiltration through the stretchy fabric.

I thought this at first, but now i'm not so sure. I feel there is something fundamentally different about this T7 that is more than just it's obvious spec failings....it's more than 'i don't like the new face' it's that it obviously isn't a 'van', and it's just isn't so fun looking, likeable and cool. For the past four iterations the design of the basic van hasn't really changed. It is the shape of a van, a golden ratio that you love as kid when you push around a little van, and when you get one you are delighted because it isn't a car, it's a van. The box on wheels has gone and the T7 looks like an adult people carrier you could fit a coffin in, that they have tried to make look like a cali. The lack of space, lack of table in the back, the fact no-one would ever even try and live in it for longer than a weekend, plus the other things i said means i think it will be a total and utter sales failure.

And the new beach is just useless compared to the T6.1 version with the cooker and space to actually stand up next to the bed. Can't see anyone buying that.

Exactly. The previous changes were basically opinions based on a facelift. This change is based on huge practical differences.

I can't imagine what a wet weeks camping with a couple of kids would be like in the new smaller cali. Our T6 Ocean was bad enough with just 2 of us when it was time to make the downstairs bed.
