They aren't wrong about the complexity - for years Japanese brands have kept it simple - pick a trim level, pick a colour, off you go. I've always found VAGs massive options list frustrating and it looks like the complexity is causing them issues too

Chinese are taking over the market! Started with pure EV’s, and now a new hybrids seems to come out every week. Some hybrid with 90mile EV range / 700mile combined range. Most with a power lead that allows you to run 240v appliances from the car - can only be a matter of time before they get this tech into a camper!

China used to be VW’s biggest market (Europe 2nd) but they have now had lowest 1st quarter sales since 2010 in China, and has now been overtaken by BYD. BYD started as a battery manufacturer.

BYD now expanding rapidly & even now chartering their own vessels to enable better control of their supply chain.

Imagine! I mean why would you want that for a camper? /s

I reckon maybe 15 - 20 years time it will be implemented by VW. Don't want to be too ambitious.

Hopefully they'll have worked out how to manage the leisure batteries by then too. It's very tricky you know.
