So today I drove for an hour to a friends with no issues, then 8 hours later got in the van to drive home input home on the navigation and then the infotainment proceeded to reboot itself about every 5 minutes all the way home and there was no audio at all on any source, even CarPlay.

Anyone had this or know of a fix?

Reboot the Infotainment system.

Hold the power button for 20 seconds.

You sir are a star!

I had tried holding the power button but not long enough, I’ve just held it until the screen went noticeably black, no back light, and now I have audio.

Going for a day trip today so I’ll see how it behaves.

Thanks.

The Infotainment system is a computer, and what do you do when your computer plays up? Switch off and reboot. It happens occasionally.

It’s interesting seeing how different brands deal with it though.
My personal car seems to boot a secondary ‘image’ so that you have most of the features until you restart the car.
You would have thought the VW would know that the navigation system wasn’t working and reboot itself.
