Alert on position P

Hello,
I have an issue with an alert which occurs randomly. Sometimes the system does not detect that i’m parked in P position and when i open a door, i have a BIP telling me to exit only on position P… but i’m already in P… when it’s occurs during the night… you wake up everybody…
Anyone facing this issue. On French Forum, they tell me it’s 1200€ to change the gear lever…

Have had this on two different VW Golf DSG gearboxes, but fix was the same, both times, new gear lever

I have the same message, vw says it will cost £900 to fix, so I'll put up with it for the duration

Having had to repair this on a couple of gearboxes now. The risk we were always told was a total failure of the part could leave the vehicle immobile.
On both occasions, the dealer has been able to get central VW contribution to the cost of repair as out of warranty. From memory it's was 100% on one occasion, 50% on the other.
