Hi all , I’m France at the moment and the ACC has an error , function not available , amber light so no limiter or cruise control , tried tuning on and off , left the van off last night and cleaned front sensor , VW assist won’t help as it’s not a Breakdown , anyone got any ideas ? It’s a T 6.1.

Make sure the windscreen and sensor are clean of bugs. I can’t be completely certain but the forward camera behind the rear view mirror pointing out the windscreen can also be used as part of the ACC function as well as the radar in the bumper. Also ACC gets upset if you leave the van running but not moving for extended periods, I assume some sort of plausibility check.

Check your front bumper for any damage.
Check if the ACC sensor in the front bumper is still in place. Maybe someone hit the front bumper with their towing hitch without you knowing it?
Also check for rodent damage on wires.
Also check your parking sensors, as they also can interfere with other ADAS.

A few possibilities.

Check no debris on the radar sensor face - lots of squashed bugs etc.

If your van has lane assist or traffic sign recognition, a fault with the camera behind the windscreen can also disable ACC. Check if camera is obscured

Low battery charge can cause ACC faults. Check the voltage of the engine battery.

The front radar may have been knocked out of alignment, maybe another vehicle has knocked you?. Have a look / feel around to see if there is any obvious issues.

If you have access to a Carista OBD2 you can see what error codes there are, or get a garage to do this for you.

Good luck !
