Hi,
The abs warning light came on and my mechanic had the unit off and sent it off. Today we have been told that it’s complete mechanical failure on the hydraulic unit so can’t be reconditioned.
When the mechanic tried to find a new part he was told that they have sold 3 today all on 2010 models like mine ! Cost of new module is £3200 and is currently the only one left in the country !
Has anyone had this or can anyone advise on a reliable second hand module. I know it will need recoding to my van possibly.

Seems excessive! Time to do some research.
People love to over charge for these things. Not sure about the coding on that model but it’ll certainly need VCDS to bleed the pump once installed.
Hunt around for the pump price so you know how much your mech is charging you for labour etc.

You should be able to get one from a breakers for a few hundred. It’s only a couple of hours to swap out and bleed.

I’m about to do the same job on my Golf.

Thanks it couldn’t be repaired but after some searching found a second hand one that has the same codes so hopefully will just plug in and not need coding.
