My family and I emigrated to British Columbia, Canada in 2021 from Scotland. We live in a beautiful little ski town called Nelson.

A couple of years ago my mum started talking about selling her beloved California, and I looked into getting it imported. It arrived January this year via a boat from Liverpool to Halifax Nova Scotia, then a train from Halifax to Vancouver. We've been enjoying it all summer.

There are very few of these vans over here. T4s and older are more common, and I've managed to find a local mechanic who will work on it but I expect getting parts will be a pain. So worth it though!

Hi Matt, Congrats and you will be turning a lot of heads with a California all over the PACNW. On your road trips down south suggest checking out the Columbia River Gorge and nearby mountain valleys as well as the Bend region. Feel free to DM me for any suggestions specific to Oregon if you ever make it there. Incredible wild nature in the PACNW as you know and happy trails.

Hi Matt,
Really nice van! I am sure it is turning heads in Nelson ;)
I have a big favor to ask. I also immigrated to BC from Europe some time ago. I am seriously considering buying and importing a T5 California. Would you mind sharing some details about the process? Did you hire someone, or did you do it yourself? Ideally, I'd like to get it to Vancouver, BC. I plan to buy the vehicle in Germany, and hoping to ship it from there.
I would really appreciate any info you can give me. Thank you so much!
