2006 alarmed or not?

First daft question, I am in process of buying a 2006 SE and seller says it doesn't have an alarm. I have read in a few places including on here, that all californias have alarm. On the other hand the 2005 brochure from Deepcar in Resources section makes no mention of it. Can anyone clarify, will all 2006 californias have alarms at standard?

Not all Cali’s have a alarm , all Cali’s (at least T5’s) do have a startimobilizer
Diffrent things.
I belive alarm was a option .

Thanks for the replies. I have now picked up the van and it does after all have the vw alarm fitted.

Mine doesn't have the alarm fitted, i believe it was an optional
extra.
