18" wheel, comfort suspension, versus 17"

Looking at selling my 17" cascavel alloys if anyone is interested in a project. They have corroded quite badly, and very suddenly, which I read is not uncommon. I have been given a quote to restore them but quite frankly I can get annother set for the same money, already done, and won't have to take the van off the road.

So I am looking for replacements. Tyres are approaching their limit, so now is a good time to try something different. Existing tyres are cross-climate 2, but am thinking of getting a set of summers, or trying a different all-season.

I have the comfort suspension option and it does seem to make a difference so wondering whether I would notice a difference in ride quality moving to 18"?

I read many have 18" and are not bothered by ride quality, and prefer the improved handling.

Tyres will also make a difference, and am considering Primacy 5 or All Season Contact 2.

I know it's unlikely anyone has the same set up but would in interested to hear what people think.

Depends on what size your 17 tyres were. I had factory Duravis tyres on 17 and went to 18 with the plated size and the ride quality improved noticably, far less crashy. May be the lower pressure the 18 can run at I don't know.

Normal cali 18" tyres size is 255/45/18-103 but the 235/55/18-104 is well worth considering as you get a little more side wall height plus there is usually a cost saving. Good range of Brands and tyre types to select from.
